Occupational Fraud 2022:
Occupational fraud is likely the most costly and most common form of financial crime in the world. The term occupational fraud refers to fraud that is committed by individuals against the organisation that employs them.
ACFE has reported that their respondents observed an increase of 77% in fraud as of August 2020.
There is also an expectation that fraud will further increase to 92% in the next 12 months

South Africa was ranked 70 on the Corruption Perception Index, published in 2019, with a score of 44. Countries are scored between 0 and 100, where 0 is highly corrupt and 100 is very clean.
